Not all chargers are exactly equal.  You should not charge your G1 with just any "USB charger".

it goes like this folks.

Blackberry charger will outputs @ .75 Amps

A Motorola charger will output @.55 Amps

The G1 charger will output @1Amp

All these chargers have a USB connector. and and they look like the will fit into your g1 charging which it will.

but that's not a good idea.
The G1 designed to expect power at 1Amp. If you connect a charger that outputs less,
it may try to draw more than the charger outputs.  This could cause your charger to burn up or your device to not charge properly... leading to poor battery performance.
and ultimately death of the g1.
so be sure to check the label put on it by the manufacture to see if it outs out 1amp.
if it doesn't i would suggest you don't use it.

Jeno,

Thanks for the info.  I have been guilty of using friends' chargers when my phone died.  Good to know the output levels.
