ok so i dropped my iphone 2g the other day (the original iphone) and the screen cracked. the touchscreen still works except theres a big crack in the middle. I like a bit of diy so i had a look how to fix it and saw this kit,

seen as though the digitizer touch bit is still working surely this will be okay for just replacing the cracked glass?

But does anyone know how? i cant find a guide that just replaces this part and not the the screen and digitizer as a whole.

Hi,
This is an iPhone 3G 8GB / 16GB Digitizer / Touch Screen (TouchScreen) Glass.  These digitizers are OEM quality, not cheap chinese remakes! They will not only replace old scratched and broken iPhone 3G 8GB/16GB digitizers (digitizer) touch screen, but it will also make your phone look new again!
