Ok people i know your prob like OMFG!!! the battery life is major short on this phone.

But the is a way to actually get it to last long with 3G and having a normal brightness.

Well im going to tell you how i got mine to last like 5 hours while being on it the whole time.

Well if people dont know me im Anthony AKA Choaxman and i want to be the voice of this website
and i understand to be the voice i need to be on top of things like making videos for the site so people can join and reviews and wat not cuz videos will show more like if you have a prob i will make a vid showin how to do it or answer the questions i want to do some funny ones too so people can see we are not lame monkeys that do nuttin fun. anyways yea im going to make a new vid soon but i need to get my video software to work first so if you see a crappy vid that means i still havent got it to work. So please dont tell me it looks like crap cuz i already kno.

but anyways i been work on the g1 and putting to the test. A very harsh test  Angry lol but yea i want to make a review vid on it and so far i got everything i want to talk about already PROs and CONs.

and now about the battery life  Wink
I know people want to find out how i did it
and there isn much
when i first got it the battery life was like 3 hours so i started to mess with it
and changing things but wat i did is put the brightness to a little less than the middle or "normal"
and turned off the sound and put it on vibrate thats all i did and now its alot better in battery life
oh yea change the backlight to less than 2 mins

choaxman,
Sounds great to me, now when you are talking about 5 hours, it means 5 hours of continous using + receiving + making phone calls? or just using for browsing, etc?

choaxman,
thanks Smiley sounds great to me, I mainly use the phone to work, receive and make calls, call family sometimes a day, email for sure that it will be useful when I am on the road, web browsing for me for sure when I need a fast information from google or a website. ,  I would love to have  skype or google talk with the g1 and hm...   that's it, oohhhhhh  I forgot ,  I want to transfer all my outlook contacts from outlook 2007 to the g1.    I mainly use it for that purpose,   not to play or something, but sure, I will share that I learn to all people can learn from my mistakes and my learnings.  i dont understand why so many people are having so many battery problems. i had the phone since the 22nd and ive not had the problems that everybody has. for instance today i recieved 25 emails  30 text messages 20 phone calls all 10 min or more browsed the web 20 min, 6 times on market to 10 pics still all with 3g on @ 55% battery @ 6 pm and i took it of the charger @ 6:30 am so thats 12.5 hours. plus i never conditioned the battery either. its been the same since i had rc19 now im on rc29. maybe im just lucky. but then i have never had any problems with any phone ive ever had. even my n95 that was suppose to only get maybe 5 hours battery life but i easily got 14 hours of heavy usage. and i do heavy usage on all my phones. even the g1 i use it heavely all the time. so thats why i dont understand. just so you guys know i recieve over 300 emails a month and use @ least 5000 mins a month for work.

Same here. I have not had the battery problems I see others having.  It doesn't last as long as my razor2 but I didn't expect it to.

Fellows,
That's maybe because you don't use it as many others, since this is a phone that do many things, many people want to be just in the phone, I believe that's why, my phone can last 24 hours using it normally, because sometimes I play a little bit.

What I noticed is that:
it does not matter how much I charge the battery,  just in a few usage the  Battery Meter go down one level so easly, does it happen to you too? I don't know if that is me or just that's normal.

Just out of curiosity. Are you using any GPS apps that run in the background like Locale or LifeAware or GPS Tracker? Do you even have GPS turned on? That might be my culprit.

jeno, thanks for verifying. I suspect my GPS apps running constantly in the background are the source of my power issues.

this is copied from another forum.its very useful

I too was having the rapid draining battery problem up until yesterday. What i did was let me battery drain completely 3 times and while charging it completely i turned off the 3G setting so it would use as much power. After doing this 3 times i was finally able to achieve a 100% charge for the 1st time. Since then i have turned the 3G back on, and as of 6:15 this morning i unplugged it at 100% charge and it's almost 6 hours later right now and i have sent several tect messages, emails, and phone calls made, with the 3G activated and i am still looking at a 67% charge this very minute.

So basically i believe the key is getting the battery trained to accept a 100% charge, i never got that until i did the above and since then things are working Great, would love to get some feedback if this helps anyone else with the same battery problems i was having.

dzikos,
100% charge ?  I can not get it, it is supposed that you can get a 100% charge, am I wrong?

the thing is that the phone can have malfunction on the batery life when you have everything on while charging, cos it is using big amount of energy and it is charging at the same time....so i will empty my phone and turn it off three times to teach my battery a proper recharging..trust me it works..

By biggest advice till now.every time u charge your phone turn off GPS and wireles and close all the app.You will notice that the phone is not heating anymore...if you use GPS and wireless the phone is burning while you are charging it...

For all of you who are charging their phone at night.I recommend you get the new 1600mah battery that hes overheating protection...i already order it
