After looking at all three companies, and wishing I had three G1s to use as test models, I did the next best thing I could think of to compare and contrast all three companies that offer protections, I contacted friends. Each had gone with a different company, each had their reasons for choosing them, and each had different experiences.
I will give a breakdown of each company with the pros and cons of their product, and then detail my opinion of the winner.
Invisibleshield: Clearly a favorite of some members of this forum, and widely advertised, invisibleSHIELD is fairly well documented already. Demo video can be found
herePros:
- Lifetime warranty
- Easy to install
- Nearly invisible to the eye
- 30 day money back guarantee
Cons:
- Slight "orange peel" feel to the skin (more textured and can be seen with the naked eye at certain angles)
- If not properly applied, can leave bubbles (and is guaranteed never to come loose, so you are in trouble at this point)
- Only one skin is sold per order at $24,95 each (and to my knowledge, no discount offers)
Phantomskinz: Perhaps the second most advertised protective skin on this forum, Phantomskinz has a few advantages and disadvantages compared to invisibleSHIELD.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Liftetime replacement warranty
- 30 day money back guarentee
- Two skins available for $24,95 (and a discount available with promo code)
- Can be removed if necessary via slight heat transfer
Cons:
- While it does not have the "orange peel" feel, is not 100% invisible at all angles
- Not as scratch resistant as either invisibleSHIELD or Bodyguardz
- Ability to remove with heat allows for unintentional removal of product
- Requires full 24 hour period of non-use on any items it is applied to
Bodyguarz: The least documented of the three on this forum, it has some interesting advantages and disadvantages when compared to the other two.
Pros:
- Very durable, and virtually scratch proof
- Invisible to the naked eye (at every angle I tried viewing it at anyways)
- Very easy instillation
- Two skins will run you $24.95 (with promo code available for discount)
Cons:
- Can be removed, but is likely to damage your device if done incorrectly
- Requires 24 hour down time for instillations
Also, the video is in Italian, but here is a youtube video comparing Bodyguardz and invisibleSHIELD.
http://www.youtube.com/v/kBuGeC-_t-A&rel=1After having touched and viewed all three products, my money will be going to NLU products Bodyguardz as I found it to be the most durable, easiest to apply, and most invisible. I will do my best to answer questions if anyone has them, though I am by no means an expert on this subject.
