OTA Updates

Hey I dont have a g1 yet, but im wondersing, do you need the internet where you pay for the updates? or cna oyu get em thoguht your phoenh connection or by wifi?

Well when you get the G1 you automatically have to get the internet data plan. Ive heard some updates go over the air or you have to connect your phone to your comp OR you manually install it thru your sd card. I am not sure how we are going to receive the new update. Hope this helps mayn.

So your saying you NEED to pay for internet to have the g1??!?! like you cant jsut use it for a phone and connect to your own wi-fi when you want?

You can just pay the first month and late on disable the service, the problem will come when you format your phone do a hard reset, etc and you will be prompted that stupid screen   Login and Password from Google !

How do you go on about disabling the internet though. You call and what do you tell them.

you just tell them to suspend your data service
