hi,

I am in the market for a new phone, and would be upgrading to a smartphone/handheld whatever you want to call it for the first time.  I am seriously considering the Google G1, but I am afraid that since the G3 is out, how outdated is the technology of the G1?  I absolutely HATE touchscreen keypads and would NOT want to get the G3.  So please, if you have input for me, I would appreciate it.  My only other options at this point would be the Blackberry Curve or the the Motorola Cliq (which is a bit out of the price range I was planning).  Oh, I have T-Mobile already and would only have to pay the upgrade price for these phones (in addition to the necessary data service):

G1: $99.99
Curve: $79.99
Cliq: $149.99

Thanks!
Angela

Simple.

G1 Hack It and put New firmware. You can put the Motorola Cliq's Firmware. The new Nexus phone's Firmware. Or Droid Eris's Firmware.

It will go a little slower. But you will have your keyboard!
