Ok so about 2 weeks ago i sent in my g1 to htc. well they fixed it but now when i try any of the unlock sites it says it can not come up with the unlock code. i have used these sites for it before when i did not accidentally break it. But when i got it back they changed the motherboard and every unlock site says they cannot get a unlock code for it. i am using at&t any one have any suggestions?

try rooting your G1 device see if that gets you any farther (ask the board moderators)

i would try rooting it but inst that dangerous? i have never done that before so i am unaware of it. and i have no clue what version of firmware they put on it.

The new hardware they installed might not have unlock codes generated for it yet. So I would wait. But if you are interested in rooting you can go that way as well. It can be dangerous if not done properly, however I suggest you get a hold of DaUub. He is an expert at modding and will be able to walk you through it step by step and assure the safety of your phone.

i found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480 but the problem is i cant get into the phone to download any apps anyways. i also pm DaUub. but the problem is i cant even get into the os because i dont have a t-mobile sim or anything.

rooting will not sim unlock the phone so theres no use of trying youll get nowhere you just have to wait it out for an unlock code

thanks for your help guys and i think i might just sell my phone now because i know it will be a couple of months for alls i know. thanks tho.  Embarrassed unless any one else has any ideas.

find some one with a tmobile sim and g1 data thats gonna be the only way till they find a work around for the different motherboard
