Sending Texts via WiFi?

I recently moved to a house located in a valley that's the Bermuda Triangle of cell signals. I rely on T-Mobile's phone service for voice and use WiFi for emails and browsing on the G1.

I've been reading on using the phone for voice over WiFi but I haven't seen anything regarding SMS texting via WiFi. Is there anything I can do to make this work? 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hello capital T-Mobile carries a $9.99 extra a month VOWi-Fi that is a good plan,
but T-Mobile has not come out with a TOWi-Fi plan yet

Thanks for the response. I was hoping there was an app that could pull it off. It's annoying because my previous phone, a BB Curve, did it with no problem. Also, I couldn't justify paying for just that when it's already $35 a month for the G1's data plan

You can always send SMS messages from your Gmail account. Just keep the size in mind. For T-Mo, you can send an email to [my phone number]@tmomail.net and it will come to my phone as a text message. Most carriers offer this service.

Because I was not in the text messaging stuff, it is good to know,    thanks for the tip, so my text messages will count now just when I receive them, right?  I can send them through email   not bad !
