sorry, i think i posted this in wrong place the first time

Hi everyone, chris( you can call me crockett, just like Davy)here. I just bought me G1 off craiglist last week because I did not want to resign contract. I spend the first 8 hours of that night reading these forums until I read the max limit for unregistered user .  Since then I have so many questions I wont even go into all of it yet. I will just focus on the thing most driving me crazy right now.

I can not send or receive picture messages. When I try and send them it shows the little clock icon, you know like it does anytime you send a message, but unlike when I send a normal message it never goes away with a pic, and the person never receives it. Eventually I get the notification saying message not sent. Like wise when some one sent me a pic the display in the sms message box said download, I clicked download, it said downloading....then just went back to saying download. Then eventually I receive the message not downloaded notification. Anyone know whats up with it? I followed advice I read on another thread that suggested downloading save mms app, but it did not work because when I opened it the program  just said "found no attachments"

Ohh also I should mention I have no data plan, I just use my wi-fi, but I do have the 400 messages plan, so I don't think it should matter, but maybe some one knows better then I

Sorry if my reply wasn't helpful, and your welcome if it was.

The problem is the lack of the data plan. Tmobile requires it for the G1, and without some pretty serious hacks, it will not function properly without the unlimited data plan.

yeah, sorry, I did change the sms to an mms after reading another forum, but it did not work. Guess it is because I don't have data plan. That is stupid though, because I did not have data plan with my last phone, just the text messeging and it was not a problem then. Plus if its a high speed network issue it still should have worked with wi-fi. Ohh well guess its just another war t-mobile trys to make sure you buy the data plan. I will eventualy just don't have a job right now. I just got the g1 for texting, and playing games, music and movies. All of which I can do without the data plan, I guess with the exception of sending mms.

I am excited to have mms on my mobile phone, but I can't also access it correctly. Because of not having a data plan, T-mobile is not considering a picture messaging on the phone. So, I'm getting curious on, how am I going to have a data plan?
