Login without touch screen

After only owning my phone 10 days, I managed to drop into a full glass of V-8 juice.     It was only there 1/2 a second, but obviously enough to mess it up.  I was devastated, so immediately went out and purchased a new G1.

Well after cleaning up the old G1 and letting it thoroughly dry out, everything seems to work now except the touch screen.  I didn't want to waste the phone, so I gave it to my son who also had a T-Mobile  account.  We figured you could pretty much do everything on the phone through the keyboard, menu keys and toggle stick.

Except when we did a hard boot to reset the phone.  Now he's at the sign up screen where he has to press the Android to continue, which he can't do since the touch screen isn't working properly. The toggle stick isn't working at this screen, nor the menu keys.

Does anyone know how to get past this screen any other way besides the touch screen?

i dont think there is no other way do you have phone insurance with tmobile if you do you can do a claim with insurian

Hope you have insurance on it :-x. I see your in Austin too, there's a couple on craigslist I think that are goin for a good price if you need another one

No, unfortunately I didn't have insurance. I ordered it online and don't even remember seeing them ask me if I wantes it whwn I ordered. I do now though!  Ilve already replaced the phone, I was just hoping my aon could get some use out of the phone now that everything is working but the touch screen.
