Internet Settings G1

Hy!

My brother has recently bought a G1 phone.
Can u help me setting the data connection on it (full menu worktrought)?
I need to make the settings over the phone with him and din't know were to actually start.

these are the manual setting that i need to enter:

Enter a name for the connection: Mobile Internet
Select a modem: Celular line GPRS – Next
Access point name: internet.vodafone.ro
Next
User name: internet.vodafone.ro
Password: vodafone
Domain: none
Selectam Advanced

Use IP assigned address: bifati
Use header compression: bifati
Use software compression: debifati
Use specific server address:
DNS: 193.230.161.3
Alt DNS: 193.230.161.4

Menu>settings>Wireless Control>Access Point Names>Menu(button)>New APN

sure go to press menu/settings/wireless controls/mobile networks/acess point names then menu then touch + new apn then enter all the information. that should be all there is my friend hope this helps you out

As i saw on the emulator (tmobile.modeaondemand.com/htc/g1/) there are some extra settings that need to be made like MMC ,MNC and APN type.

1.Should i leave these blank?
2.How do i activate the default profile for browsing (assuming I have two APN manual profilles)
3.How does it know which are the mms settings (path for activating the mms profile)
4.Does the email work only with an gmail account ar u could use a pop3 or imap non-google one?

you can us a POP3 account but Micrsoft Accounts wont allow device use unless you pay monthly

1-3 i cant give you answers for but you can try google for that or even contacting htc directly to get them to try to help you since i only know things here in the usa.

but for # 4 you have to use google to start the phone but after that you can use the email for the purposes that your looking for

you can also go to xda-developers.com and see what they have there. there more into hacking and doing the settings chance is that you may find the settings your looking for. they have a lot of people from Europe on there. hope this helps you my friend.
