download rings extended from the market place.
now you can use all sounds mp3 files as ringtones or notifications.
it will not show up as an app so there wont be an icon. now onto how to use it.
press menu/settings/sound and display/phone ringtone or notification ringtone. you will get a pop up choose rings extended. now you have access to other ringtones on your sd card mp3 files or sounds that you have stored on there.ENJOY.

an addition to Jeno's thread,

you can change:
1) Text Message notification sound
2) Different Ringtones for different contacts of course
3) Gmail notification's sound for emails
4) Google Talk sound message notification

I don't know if I am missing others, but that's what I use Smiley different ones for all these 4 Smiley

ive had ring extended for awhile now and all of the sudden it doesnt work..... when i select ring tone to chane it , it just goes to the regular selection of ring tones... there is no option for ring extended... anyone know whats up ?

i did that like 20 times and it still wouldnt work... i did do a hard reset and now itis all good......

thats 1 app i cant live wit out !!
