My child was playing what she thought was dot to dot on my handset.. she was actually setting the security pattern  Shocked now the handset is locked.

Will hard or soft resetting lose all contacts, SMS, media etc ?  I know my contacts will sync after signing back in but what about SMS and media ?

Cheers

If I need beckup before do soft reset it looks I do hard reset.

I tried many times but it showed the same thing. Before I do the soft reset, I unlocked the phone and it works.
