How to check if it's refurbished or not?

Hi,
I'm about to buy a G1 phone and I wondering if there is a way to check if it's refurbished or not? I saw long time ago as my friend was checking some phone by entering a code and it showed refurbished status as "No".

I assume g1 might have something like that, does it?

check for physical damage to the phone.  as for the software, its opensource so doesn't matter if it's been tampered with.  If you get it from the store, 9x's out of 10. it's stock img.  If you buy it off somebody.  Best of luck with that.

there is a code to put in that tells you if it is or not...... call t-mobile and they will tell you a code to check.. if you do that can you please post for the forum .. thank you !

I called T-Mobile and a reo. said that she doesn't know any code for that. But there have to be one for checking its status.

just look around the corners of the g1 and if theres any scratches or anything like that its a refurb, if not then the original owner was ocd about his phone or its new

DUDE, they replace the whole case on refurb phones...  there is def a number to inter so you can find out if its a refurb.. i'll see if i can get it a gain !
