I have had several blackberrys.  I gave my latest crackberry to my wife so she could get rid of her Sprint account (thank God!) Giving her the crackberry allowed me to buy the G1 on a 'second line' type t-mobile plan.

Every time I climbed into my car with my Crackberry it would auto-connect to the Pioneer hands free bluetooth adapter (CD-BTB200).  the G1 doesn't.

My crackberry had the option to 'always trust' another bluetooth device.  If the G1 supports this ability too, I simply cannot find where it can be set.

What am I doing wrong?

I finally downloaded "anycut" from Android Market so I could put a direct shortcut to the Bluetooth settings screen allowing me to 'manually' connect to the car stereo each time I get into my car but this is getting really old, really fast.

What can I do to auto-connect?

Can someone please help?  I am really regretting buying the G1 because of this one obvious flaw.

OK.  So far as I know none of my Blackberry's supported 'stereo bluetooth' either.

What does that have to do with anything?

I just want my G1 to connect to my car stereo so I can continue to use my bluetooth car kit like I did with the crackberrys.  I'm not trying to listen to music via bluetooth, just use talk on my phone with bluetooth.

I SHOULD NOTE: The G1 works fine if I manually connect to my car kit with Bluetooth..... the only problem is the 'manual' aspect of it.  I never had to manually connect with my crackberrys.  I don't want to have to manually connect with my G1 either.

I have exactly the same problem. The Pioneer Bluetooth adapter also supports name caller ID, phone book dialing, and tons of other stuff. None of which is available from the G1.

VERY disappointing.

Anyone ?

UPDATE:  My G1 has been conecting on its own with my Pioneer BT kit intermittantly.  Usually takes up to 10 minutes for this to happen.  NOT COOL seeing as how I get incoming calls all the time on my G1.  Sorta defeats the purpose of the BT car kit.  My cheif reason for the Bluetooth was so I could jam out on my stereo and not miss a telephone call.  I've missed several calls because of this problem, however, I've learned to manually connect each time I hop in my ride.

I welcome some improvements to Android Bluetooth.  It won't send or receive files, what a bummer.
