Wut is widget? Huh?

Whenever I read the comments before I download an app... sumone is always talkin about "widgets" and "cupcake". Wut r these things??? Sumone... anyone, please help me!!! I'm soooo technologically illiterate its ridiculous!!!

Hey....ummm..a widget is a like a icon or something that give info to the fone i think....if im wrong pls tell me!cupcake is the new firmware for android....
