Just got my phone yesterday and so far I'm liking it. However, I did find the voice dialer to be a total let down. My previous phone (Blackberry) allows you to use voice dial from a bluetooth headset. It also would repeat the voice dial request (Name/Number.Etc) through the headset or speaker so you wouldn't have to actually look at your phone to see if it guessed the correct name/number.
The reason I ask is because I ride a Motorcycle all day and always use a helmet bluetooth(Scala Rider) and the voice dial feature to make calls. This feature is a must for me.
Is there any way to tweak the voice dial on the G-1 so it works more like the Blackberry?
Thanks

inG1wetrust,
We have posted around in the Applications section  the thread for the virtual keyboard, some companies are developing virtual keyboards, we post information there, but nothing is out there at this time.

so i have been reading this forum the better half of this evening and didn't see anything like what i would like, so forgive me if it's a duplicate request.  what would intrest me the most, outside of previously mentioned suggestions, would be a theme generator. like say i could have the screen/ layout of the phone on my desktop and i could drag and drop in icons and backgrounds and have them put into whatever code the phone would need to make my theme work.  i don't know how nor do i have any desire to write code, so for me this program would be priceless. short of that if anyone who can write code wants to help me redesign my theme i would be most appreciative

I love the app but my day to day activities are never consistant or around the same time. I'm still gonna download it and try it out though.

So far I am really enjoying the phone, but of course I am coming from a ATT blackjack (boo to windows mobile).

Anyway, my major complaints so far include...

- Unable to save attachments from texts or the gmail app
(I have found a work around of forwarding the text message to my email and browsing to my gmail within a browser and not the gmail app, but as it sounds this annoying)

- Unable to play AVI files
(There are apps already that will allow you to play 3gp files (most mobile phone video format), but unable to play an avi I took with my digit camera)

- No video camera
(I am not sure if it is possible to remedy this with an application or if this is a hardware restriction, but it would be nice to take videos with such a nice phone)

If anyone has found an answer to the above or information about when and if something may be possible please let me know.

I was thinking of having the number key pad available for text messages and use t9 format for texting instead of having the keyboard open . I mean key board is nice for web and other apps

When people say that companies are developing a virtual key board I hope they are not talking about qwerty virtual

I'm a student that does not know how to grocery shop and I hate the simplest math. I'd like an app that allows u to scan barcodeand saves the price from that scan and then let's u scan another, adding it to the previous item scanned like a calculator. I'd also suggest a way to factor in a persons state tax during setup. Please one of u smart guys make this.

I use my calendar alot and I was wondering if they can make an app that allows you to put icon functions in your drop down menu? I guess when I was on the web I needed to load in a bunch of dates into my calendar and I had to exit the web  go back to the main screen  access calendar input date exit calendar go back to the web exit the web with a new date. repeat.

It would be much easier if I could just load my calendar into a pull menu (like the notifications) that is just always on running in the background. Pull out calendar load the date and push it back. This way I wouldn't have to quit out of anything.

LOL, truthfully it would be nice if I could load any app to be in a pull out menu. I.e.

Top: Notifications, time, ect. (like normal)
Bottom: Menu (like normal)
Left: Calendar (or any other app you want running in the background with easy access too.)
Right: Contacts/Calc (or any other app you want running in the background with easy access too.)

I understand this is probably an impossible task. It would just make things easier for me at least to have two important apps/functions only one pull down menu away.
