I tell you what, I had my previous phones and had a 400/month text plan. When I got the G1 I figured I would save an additional $10 by not getting the unlimited texts and just the data plan. Well, suddenly I developed an illness that had me messed up. It's called G1itis. Yes, you may not have heard of it but it's real. With the new qwerty I never had I found myself texting just to text. Once I got used to the flesh-mounted keys, I was hooked. Then I got a bill and saw that I had went over by over $25 worth of text messages, which is a lot. Tmobile was nice enough to give me a $20 credit because they're cool like that but I added the unlimited texting, which effectively cured me of the effects of G1itis. I suggest that if you can afford to, maybe get the unlimited texts, don't catch what I had and not be ready for it. Thank you for your time.  Grin Smiley

P.s. In hindsight, I probably should have posted this in TMobile plans and services section, my bad.

Lol! I got the unlimited msg from the beginning. I don't like to count/keep track of msgs sent and received. That was nice of Tmo to credit your bill. When I added my sister onto my plan, I made sure that was the first thing she got was unlimited msg.... she'll send about 100+ everyday or every two days...

Or the "supersocial" to be even more social!

A while back, I averaged about 60-75 texts a day, and that was while out doing things with friends, partying and so on.

I personally hate texting full blown conversations but I also have unlimited texts as well. I had it on my blackberry curve so I kept the same plan on my G1, but I totally understand the G1itis as you put it

Indeed. I am a textaholic. I have 3000 anytime minutes on my plan and i only use about 200 a month or so. Texting is so much more convenient. You can reply when you want, and it takes way less attention than a phone conversation. Also, you can think about what you're gonna say before you send it. There have been times that I have typed up a big hater message, and decided last second not to send it luckily. However, had I been on the phone, it would have just came out.

Yea I totally agree. Thats why I love texting cus I can pick my words more carefully and word things better... I tend to just blurt things out when I talk and usually offend or piss people off.
