Didn't want to start a new topic when one had already been done, so sorry for bringing back an old one.

I just ran across this news article:

Quote
Apple rejects Twitter app because there's swearing on the Internet

link is here: http://www.macworld.com/article/139316/2009/03/tweetie_rejection.html

While reading this, I could not help but being happy that I chose the G1 over the Iphone, namely because of the problems I have been hearing about regarding their app store. Sure, they have quite a big selection, but the G1 Market is getting up there, new things being released daily, not to mention being behind time wise.

Anyways, just wanted to add to the "G1 is better than Iphone" list!!

They're both great devices, but I'd take the iPhone over the G1 any day.

1. It looks a lot better/it's slimmer
2. It's battery life on average is about twice or three times the G1's
3. Better App Store because of popularity
4. Bigger Screen = greatness
5. Better call quality
6. Safari Web Browser > G1's browser
7. Camera quality on iPhone is better than G1's even with the 2MP camera
8. Multi Touch and great UI

Don't flame me or anything. I was gonna get the G1 for T-mobile, but I found enough money to switch to AT&T for the iPhone. The G1 hasn't been out as long as the iPhone so give it time and it might be able to beat it.

Here's a random battle between the two super-powered devices

Consider yourself flamed!

1: Personal opinion, I prefer the look of the G1
2: *cough* Power Manager *cough*
3: Apples app store has also been around a lot longer, and Android is OS, which means no denied apps
4: Bigger screens are good, but I think the G1 does just fine.
5: My call quality is great, no complaints at all.
6: G1 web browser is just fine, I have no problems with it.
7: I agree that the Iphone may have a better camera
8: You can get that with G1

That is a pic of an Iphone that was stupid enough to go up against a G1...nuff said.

G1's browser better than iPhone's? Keep dreaming
Safari dominates

Also, the update 3.0 will be announced next week and it will have MMS and cut/paste support for iPhone. It will probably release around summer, maybe earlier.

So to anyone who complains of the iPhone not having MMS, think again.

Also, the iPhone is most likely getting flash in the summer time.

I like the G1, but I'd always prefer the iPhone to it. I'm not a fan of Apple, I just like some of their iPods.

And about dropped calls...I think that's BS because I've never had a dropped call for the past month since I've had my iPhone.

I even traded in my 8GB for a 16GB just to be safe last week. Grin

But I think the dropped call issue has been gone since update 2.2.1 because I haven't heard of any more dropped calls.

Also, the iPhone 3G's speakers are REALLY LOUD. I also love watching movies/videos on my iPhone.

I'm not saying the G1 sucks because it doesn't. My friend has one and he likes it.

Who needs a replaceable battery for the iPhone? It's not like the G1's battery. On Apple's website it explains that this battery can be charged as many times as possible and it won't damage the battery AT ALL. Also, I get 8 hours average on my iPhone just surfing the web and using apps everyday. That's great, not to mention that the iPod last 24 hours.

And so what if the iPhone has been out longer than the G1...
I have only seen one person who has the G1 i my life. It doesn't have nearly as much publicity as the iPhone. I could care less about open source apps because the iPhone gets new apps every day. Thousands of them are also free.

It's not just because the iPhone has been out for a long time that it has so many apps, but it's the fact that it receives so much publicity for being a revolutionary phone.

Now many other phones are trying to copy it, like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

I wanna see how the G2 compares to it as well.
