Google G1 phone problems...please help!?

The other day, randomly, my G1 started messing up. The light was blinking a pinkish color and I had never seen that before. I took the battery out and restarted it, but the screen stayed blank and the light was now a solid blue color. I looked how to fix this and finally got it working. Now, the lights are still strange and the buttons are messed up. For example, when I hit the home button, it shuts off my screen. When I try to unlock the screen by hitting the menu button, nothing happens so I have to slide th keyboard out. Also, when I type in the letters R,E,T,W, and the numbers 7,8,9,0 on the keyboard, the screen shuts off. Can anyone help? I have never had any problems on my G1 until this.

I have unlocked my G1 but can't seem to activate it. I have changed the APN settings to the best of my knowledge, and I'm still getting the "problem with google servers" message. Has anyone had any luck doing this in Qatar, or does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks in advance.
