I have heard that the G1 (VERSION ONE) might be replaced with the new G1 (VERSION 2) AKA BIGFOOT

When that happens in the fall, the G1 wont be sold anymore.

well if you get the g2 your will only be getting it for the looks.  the hardware specs on both are exactly the same except the g1 has a slide keyboard.   The g2 has 512mb of internal memory instead of 256.    They both have the same software, so you will be paying for looks  buying the g2.

To me the loss of the hard keyboard is a downgrade. I like to be able to play with my phone in the recovery terminal without having to run adb from my computer.

im kinda liking the sleek look of the g1 v2 but cant make the decision till it arrives

  Have they released any photos of this "bigfoot"?   I was curious about this when i first decided that i was getting a G1 due to my first 2year contract running out.

The big foot is rumored to be a non-Android device now  (by inside source to phonedog).

The G1 is a life saver when you want to hack/root, the terminal is topnotch when you dont want to use ADB... The look of the "G2" is nice but I still like the G1.

I am a newbie here, upgrading from the VERY limited Samsung Behold and wanted a true smartphone that was 100% supported by TMo. I thought of getting the Mytouch 3G, but since it's not currently available, and the ideal that only the lack of physical keyboard is the only major difference, I felt that I shouldn't wait.
