Hi,
I am thinking about getting the G1, but I have ATT. I am also on the cheapest plan there is: $30 a month. I was wondering if there is a way to buy the G1 for $180 from Tmobile, unlock and use it? The $400 is a bit much. I have no problem switching to the Tmobile $30 plan, but I heard it is required to have the data plan. Another option I'm considering is the developer version for $425, since I can find a use for it. Anyone have any ideas? What about buying the phone from walmart? will they make me an account in the store?
Thanks
-George

for the price you want it for you have to sign up for a 2 year agreement with tmobile. unless you know someone with tmobile whoes due for an upgrade or another line to get the phone at the subsidized price

You would need to get someone to sell you a G1 for that price or cancel the ATT contract and switch to T-Mobile Or pay full price so I would just pay full price
