I JUST GOT MY PHONE ON THE 8TH NOV... WOULD HAVE THOUGHT T-MOBILE WUD GIVE ME A PHONE WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE!!!
I URGENTLY NEED A SOFTWARE UPDATE ASAP. AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL IT (WUD IT BE SAME WAY AS GE0411M EXPLAINED)

Gaffa,
don't worry, sooner or later you will get it, I know that is very frustating to have a very very old update or patch, and I believe that rc patch should be the most bugy in the world, LOL, if I think that   rc30 is very bugy imagine how would be the rc8   that's really bad to read that you have that,   you should call Tmo CC and complaint that you are very mad because you just got the phone on Nov 8 and you got the phone with the update rc8,   I don't know what they were thinking when they sent you this phone, it was one of the first that they had hiding somewhere and they found it.

don't you think that was in  Lost and Found ? LOL,   nahhhh  take it easy, you will be fine !,  just wait and patience !!

OK. I GOT IN CONTACT WITH T-MOBILE, AND THEY SAID THAT IN THE UK THE LATEST VERSION OF THE G1 IS RC-08. BUT THE PHONE WILL BE UPDATED AUTOMATICALLY EVERYTIME AN UPDATE IS RELEASED.

HOWEVER T-MOBILE ALSO SAID THAT THE WARRANTY WILL NOT BE VOID IF WE USERS IN THE UK INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION.

SO THOSE MEMBERS THAT HAVE THE LATEST VERSION (RC-29 OR RC-30) CAN YOU SEND THE LINK ON WHERE I CAN GET THE LATEST UPDATE, AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL IT THE PROPER WAY.

JUST ONE THING IM WORRIED ABOUT, IF I INSTALL RC-30 ON MY G1, THEN T-MOBILE UK RELEASE AN UPDATE,(RC-O9. RC-10 ETC) WILL MY G1 BE DOWNGRADED, AND WILL I NEED TO KEEP INSTALLING THE LATEST VERSION.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW

gaffa,
OK, if you spoke with Customer Care @ Tmobile, what I think that they got different versions in UK,  and if you put the version that we have in USA, you will have maybe some glitches to work property in UK servers or something slighty different, If I were you I would prefer to stick with that they are telling me, why take the risk ?

YEA TRUE SAY, BUT I'M SURE IT WILL TAKE A VERY LONG TIME TO GET THE VERY LATEST SOFTWARE A.K.A RC-30,AND BY THE TIME WE BRITISH REACH RC30, THE AMERICANS WILL BE IN TRIPLE FIGURES. AT TIMES ITS SHIT BEING BRITISH, BUT THAT'S LIFE I GUESS,I WILL WAIT FOR THE PHONE TO GET UPDATED BY ITSELF. OH WELL...

THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE.

Biggest change I've noticed since my update about 5 days ago is battery life.  I'm going on almost 2 DAYS since I've plugged my phone in and I'm still just a little shy of half a battery.  Hells yeah!!!

Scooter that's great news! Gaffa, try to hold out for the propper updates for your location to avoid the glitches that both you and Rayosx are foreseeing. Otherwise you might end up having to keep physically patching with each update, which is a horrid chore in itself.

YEA I NO, ALL WE CAN DO IS WAIT UNTIL THE PHONE UPDATES ITSELF, I'VE BEEN POSTIN MY PROBLEMS ON ANOTHER FORUM AND SOME ONE SUGGESTED THAT IT MIGHT EVEN BE THE ACTUAL BATTERY FAULT, I'M GOIN TO RING T-MOBILE UP AND ASK THEM IF THEY CAN SEND ME A REPLACEMENT BATTERY, SEE IF THAT DOES THE TRICK. WILL KEEP YOU POSTED
