I have an unlocked G1 and it has been working great for a while. I cleared my gmail data in the manage applications and put in a different account when it asked me to fill in my Gmail account information. After that all of my contacts were gone so i went to import them from my sim card. Every time i try to import them from my sim card or create a new contact i get "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" or "the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" and i haven't been able to find any fixes for that.

It seems my best hope is to reset the phone back to factory defaults and start over. When/if I do that will the phone be locked again?

If so i no longer have the unlock code is there anyway to retrieve that from the phone before doing a factory reset?

Thanks!

When you reset the phone it will not be locked.  You will be just fine.  You will juet need to re-sign into your gmail account.
