No Network?

I just picked up a used G1. I have a regular data plan not the G1 plan. For a while it let me do everything but then I started getting "no network" for email...ect. Nothing works but basic call features. Do I have to get the other data plan to make the other features work? I'm sorry if this has already been answerd, I looked but didnt find an answer before posting. Very not phone savy. Thanks if you can help. loulou

Yeah the 9.99 data plan isn't going to cut it. or the 15 one you need the 24.00 or the 35.00
