how do i get the on screen key pad on my G1

i can seem to find out how to get the on screen key pad working on my G1...... please help

Is your phone updated with the latest firmware?

You need to update to the latest firmware. Press menu, settings, about phone, then system updates. There should be an update to CRB43 available.
