Check out this link from XDA which gives a much more stable method of running apps of the SD. Instead of setting symbolic links (which can lead to laggy performance and force closes), this melds /data with /system/sd, convincing the computer that they are one.

One thing I must add to this, is if you are already running apps on your sd, you should do a wipe. I tried without a wipe, and over half of my apps would no longer run. After a wipe, everything works so well, and is running very fast.

Explain what you mean by "Ubuntu failed to partition my sd card". I can probably walk you through this.

Try using the terminal to open your sd card in gparted.  Let me know if I should explain more.

There are two dowloads on that page, one which contains the init.rc and the a2sd.sh, and the other with apps2sd.apk. Follow the directions, then when finished, install the apk. This is an apps to sd app that is further along in the dev process.

thats because your not doing it correctly when your in gparted and you create the fat32/ext2 partitions before you press apply to make the changed you need to unmount the card so gparted will make the changes to the card otherwise it will fail everytime

It took me some time to figure that one out when I first tried this Smiley

Yes and No, your phone will be as if it had never had it done, but the folders in /system/sd will still be there.

Hmmmmmmmmm, think I've fopund a flaw.

I've done as instructed and all seemed to be working fine.
I created the link using terminal emulator and also installed and ran Aps2sd.apk, I selected 'move apps to SD' and 'remove internal apps'.

However when I reloaded the programs that are protected and HAVE to go in the internal memory, I get an error trying to run any of them. They won't run at all.

Looks like I will need to uninstall Aps2sd.apk as it somehow blocks the protected programs from running.
