G1 texting works, but problem w/ outgoing and incoming calls

last night my g1 phone was working perfectly fine but then today i hooked my phone up to my computer through the USB cable and put music into my phone. then i notcied that when i tried to play it on the music player i could not hear it but when i set it as a ringtone it played.

then when someone called me i picked up but it was COMPLETELY silent ! i tried to call someone else and it was also COMPLETELY silent but it showed that the other person picked up. my texting works. could this be a possible virus ? any ideas that may solve the problem?
