Whats good chizzle! what u mean... isnt it supposed to come OTA? or can you goto ur link and download it. But I dont get it do I gotta do it from my phones broswer?

Yes, but if you dont want to wait....

Download the update to your computer then put it on your sd card rename it (update) YOU MAY HAVE TO RENAME IT (UPDATE.ZIP)

1. Turn ur G1 off, then hold the home + power button...

2. You will see a yellow triangle pop up on the screen, NOW hold ALT and PRESS L then press ALT and S...

3. You will see the file extracting on your phone and doing the update, press the HOME AND BACK button when it tells you to do so...

4. After that it will say that its installing the radio update...

5. The phone will reboot about twice and you will see the new android startup graphics, the phone will be stuck there for about 2 mins or longer..  when your phones comes back on, BAM CUPCAKE !

I got a question totaly off topic... but I just took the back off my phone and was looking around... and I see a little circle piece that says VOID like a little to the left of the sim card slot... is this normal or is there something wrong with mine?!?! please lemme know... cuz I got a craigslist G1..even tho it was new in the box I just want to be sure!! Thanks fellas!

Everyone has that it has a little screw underneath its just a warning to you and to let them know that the phone has been tampered with......So your good as long as its there !

Okay I have tried this a few times and am having issues.  I have downloaded it and put it on the sd card.  Now when I start it up to load from the sd card it says it can't find the file or load it.  I have tried renaming in caps and lowercase all to no avail.  Is there anything else I can try?  Thanks

i just done this last night to my Girls G1. i tried renaming it just (update) and it did not work, then i renamed it update.zip and BAM !!! CUPCAKE.......     DID YOU MAKE SURE THAT U PUT IT ON THE ROOT OF UR SD CARD ?? meaning, soon as you click on ur sd card drive from ur pc you will see other files. make sure you put it right there !

Okay, I got it to work.  I just renamed it update without .zip and that is how it worked for me.  Thanks
