With all of the new custom roms, and themes available today, there has been quite an increase in people "semi-bricking" their phones, i.e. bootloops, etc.  It is not easy to diagnose each problem simply by the symptoms, as there are just too many variables. What I would suggest is that any request to fix an issue with bootloops (or the like) must be accompanied with a log.

What do I mean by this? With the power off, connect the phone to your computer, and from the terminal (command prompt for non unix) run adb logcat while it boots. This will give a read out of what is happening to cause the bootloop.

When I have time, I would like to put up a tutorial on this, as it is quite simple (if you can obtain root, you can do this). If someone would like to take this upon themselves, feel free.

Sounds like a highjackthis-type thing that we could run then post so people can get a better feel for what's going on. eh..?
